Interesting post. We have finite time and resources, so prioritization is necessary.

I have always assumed that in order to accomplish something significant I need focus, so I have tried to limit my projects to 2 at a time (my main job, and a side project). Do most entrepreneurs juggle multiple ideas at a time? I want to try more things, but I think I will have to start getting help from other people in order to begin juggling multiple balls.

Great post and insight. I've always believed that when you set your own boundaries, and show the universe what you DON'T want, it helps define what you DO want.

Thanks for the comments Kimber & Dawn. @Dawn the tough thing is when you're faced with having to turn down opportunities that sound like something that your heart WOULD be in and would be very exciting. There reaches a point when you can only handle so much though and taking on those projects would take away from your other projects your heart is already in.

Hey David,

Keep saying "no" when your heart isn't in the work or "opportunity". I found myself mired in projects that excited nobody and took a toll on mine and my staff's mental health. You've reached a point when getting work for work's sake doesn't further your business. Good for you for recognizing it!

David,

I recently have been thinking on the same thoughts. I have realized the only new balls I want to juggle are things I was already doing only now I am taking them on as a focus, rather than a thing I did without realizing. In other words, nothing truly new, just re prioritizing and refocusing on what I already do, it is freeing and exhilarating
